About the Role

As a Senior Software Manager you will lead and manage multiple remote engineering teams to deliver a greenfield immediate revenue generating applications and maturing existing mission critical applications. You will also partner closely with Data product team on building the product roadmap, ensuring successful releases, managing resources, and providing technology solutions.


Requirements

  • 7+ years of working experience to build, scale and maintain financial applications. Exhibit ability to architect and design greenfield high throughput, low latency distributed systems.  Engineering manager should be able to clearly present pros and cons of such a design with the rest of team members to achieve desirable results.

  • 5+ years of working experience leading 15+ engineering team members to deliver mission critical systems.

  • Subject matter expertise and experience with financial market data and security master product line.

  • Ability to manage and communicate multiple and changing priorities and deadlines to the business in a matrixed organization, comfortably supporting multiple lines of stakeholders in Product, Customer Success, QA, Risk, Marketing, Sales.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and provide technology recommendations to the business.

  • Ability to lead a project team to collectively agree on project decisions and action steps meeting deadlines.

  • Experience in systems development life cycle including the ability to define and document specifications, work with developers to design/analyze alternative technical solutions, test completed code and complete a smooth implementation with the business partners.

  • Confidence in presenting both strategic and tactical vision to the team and management for both big-picture planning and day-to-day management of project goal.

  • Desire to work with both in-house developed systems and third-party vendor packages.

  • Superb communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, organizational and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in microservices and event driven architecture.

  • Experience in various persistence storage systems such as traditional sql, no-sql and time series databases.

  • Experience in Cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, and Kubernetes would be a strong plus.

  • Experience in big data analytics would be a nice advantage.

  • Traditional financial experience with the capital market or buy side financial firms would be a plus.  Experience working with quants or data science teams would be a strong plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, firm-first mentality, mission oriented, humble, positive attitude, great composure under pressure. A hands-on, thoughtful leader.
